If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Quench not the Spirit.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

If ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him.

As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

The fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.

PRAYER.

HE that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them, for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him. After this manner, therefore, pray ye:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this

day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

For, if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way: first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

If any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him God heareth.

The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. If ye,

being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him.

And when they had prayed, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same, with thanksgiving.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Pray without ceasing.

Men ought always to pray, and not to

faint.

CONQUERING TEMPTATION.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou

not.

Watch and pray, lest ye

tion.

enter into tempta

Let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.

Enter ye in at the strait gate.

Let no man say, when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man; but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

God will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will, with the temptation, also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

He that ruleth his spirit is better than he that taketh a city.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my

son.

TRUTH AND HONESTY.

We can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

If a man strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned except he strive lawfully.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.
