Daily throughout the Year.

The Service may begin with some of thefe Sentences.

W

HEN the to the Lord your God; for wicked man he is gracious and merciful, turneth away flow to anger, and of great from his wick- kindness, and repenteth him ednefs that he of the evil. Joel 2. 13abo hath committed, and doth that which is lawful and right, he fhall fave his foul alive. Ezek. 18. 27. i..I acknowledge my tranfgreffions, and my fin is ever before me. Pfal. 51. 3.

Hide thy face from my fins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Pfal. 51. 9.

The facrifices of God are a broken fpirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not defpife. Pfal. 5D. 17.

Rent your hearts, and not yourgarments, and turnun

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveneffes, though we have rebelled against him: neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his Laws which he fet before us. Dan. 9. 9, 10.

O Lord correct us, but with Judgment; not in thine anger, left thou bring us to nothing. Jer. 10. 24. Pfal. 6. 1.

Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. S. Matth. 3. 2.

If we fay that we have no fin, we deceive our felves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our fins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our fins, and to cleanfe us from all unrighteoufnefs. 1 S. John 1. 8, 9. DEarly beloved brethren, the Scripture moveth us in fundry places to acknowledge and confefs our manifold fins and wickedness; and that we fhould not diffemble nor cloak them before the face of Almighty God, our heavenly Father; but confefs them with an humble, lowly, penitent,and sobedient heart; to the end that we may obtain forgive nefs of the fame, by his infinite goodness and mercy. And as we ought at all times humbly to acknow-ledge our fins before: God, fo ought we particularly fo -to do, when we affembleland meet together, to render thanks for the great benefits that we have received at his

Almighty God, the Fa-

the death of a finner, but ra-
ther that he may turn from
his wickedness and live; and
hath given power and com-
mandment to his Minifters,
to declare and pronounce to
his people, being penitent,
the abfolution and remiffion
of their fins: He pardoneth
and abfolveth all them that
truly repent, and unfeigned-
ly believe his holy Gofpei.
Wherefore we befeech him
to grant us true' repentance,
and his Holy Spirit, that
those things may please him
which we do at this prefent,
"and that the reft of our life
hereafter may be pure and
holy, fo that at the last we
may come to his eternal joy,
thro' Jefus Chrift our Lord.

Judge of all men; We ac knowledge and bewail our manifold fins and wickednefs, Which we from time to time moft grievously have committed by thought, word, and deed, against thy divine Majefty, provoking moft juffly thy wrath and indignation against us Grant that we may earnestly repent, and be heartily for ry for all our fins, and provocations: that the remembrance of them may be grievous unto us; as the burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father: For thy Son our Lord Jefus Chrift's fake, forgive us all that is paft and grant that we may ever hereafter ferve and please thee in newness of life, To the honour and glory of thy Name, Thro' Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

ALmighty God our hea

venly Father, who of his great mercy hath promifed forgiveness of fins to all them that with hearty repentance and true faith turn unto him; Have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your fins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and

bring you to everlasting life, thro' Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.
