But now in Christ Jesus ye are made nigh, &c. For he, &c. hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us, having abolished in his flesh, the enmity, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, &c.-Eph. ii. 13—15.

St. Paul counted all things but dung, that he might win Christ, and be found in him, not having his own righteousness, &c. but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.— Phil. iii. 8, 9.

Blotting out the hand-writing of ordinances, that was against us, which was contrary to us; and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.— Col. ii. 14.

Both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, are all of one, &c. -Heb. ii. 11.

If the blood of bulls, &c. sanctifieth, &c. how much more shall the blood of Christ, &c. purge?—Heb. ix. 13, 14.

We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, &c. For by one offering (or one only oblation) he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified, &c. and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, &c. Heb. x. 10. 14. 29.

Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate, &c.-Heb.

xiii. 12.

SECT. VII. He ariseth from the Dead.

I KNOW that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.-Job xix. 25.

My flesh also shall rest in hope (or dwell confidently), for thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.-Ps. xvi. 9, 10. Acts ii. 27. xiii. 34, 35. 37.

Jesus said, He must go, &c. and be killed, and be raised again the third day.-Matt. xvi. 21. xx. 19.

Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead, &c. They shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. Matt. xvii. 9. 23.

The angel said, &c. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said, &c. The eleven disciples saw him, they worshipped him.-Matt. xxviii. 6. 16, 17. Luke xxiv. 5, 6. 15.30, 31. 38-40, 46,

The world seeth me no more, but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.-John xiv. 19.

Mary saw Jesus after he was risen; he saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended, &c.—John xx. 14. 16, 17.

This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself, &c. after that he was risen from the dead.--John xxi. 14.

Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be holden of it, &c. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Acts ii. 24. 31, 32.

Who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.-Rom. iv. 24, 25.

Knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. Rom. vi. 9.

And God hath both raised the up Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.-1 Cor. vi. 14.

I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received; how that Christ died, &c. That he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures: and that he was seen of Cephas, &c. If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain, &c. ye are yet in your sins, &c. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.-1 Cor. xv. 3-5. 14. 17. 20.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -John xiv. 6.

It is expedient for you, that I go away, &c. If I depart, I will send the Comforter unto you; and when he is come, he will reprove the world, &c. of righteousness, because I go to my Father, &c. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again I leave the world, and go to the Father.-John xvi. 7, 8. 10. 16. 28.

Jesus said unto her, Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.-John xx. 17.

All that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he had given commandments to the apostles, &c. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion, &c. When he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men, &c. said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall, &c.Acts i. 1-3. 9-11.

This Jesus, &c. being by the right hand of God exalted, &c. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, &c. God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.-Acts ii. 3234. 36.

Jesus, &c. whom the heavens must receive until the times of restitution, &c.-Acts iii. 20, 21.

Behold (said Stephen) I see the

Reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, &c. we shall be saved by his life.-Rom. v. 10.

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, &c. who is even at the right hand of God; who also maketh intercession for us.-Rom. viii. 34.

He raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand, in the heavenly places, &c.-Eph. i. 20.

But now in Christ Jesus, ye, who sometimes were far off, are made nigh, &c. Through him we both have an access by one Spirit unto the Father: now, therefore, ye are no more strangers, but fellow-citizens, &c. of the household of God.-Eph. ii. 13. 18, 19.

Jesus, our Lord: in whom we have boldness and access with confidence, by the faith of him.-Eph. iii. 11, 12. Ps. cxxxviii. 3.

sceptre, &c. Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil, &c.-Ps. xlv. 5-7. Heb. i. 8.

Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies, whereby the people fall under thee. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive, thou hast received gifts for men.-Ps. lxviii. 18. Isa. liii. 12.

He shall judge, &c. He shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.-P's. lxxii. 2. 4. 12—14.

Unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulders, &c. Of the increase of his government shall be no end; upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, &c.-Isa. ix. 6, 7. xxxii. 1. xi. 1, &c. lv. 4.

The days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, &c. in his days shall Judah be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely.-Jer. xxiii. 5, 6. xxxiii. 17. Zech. vi. 12, 13.

I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them; even my servant David, &c. I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them.-Ezek. xxxiv. 23, 24.

The Messiah, the Prince.-Dan. ix. 25.

Thou, Bethlehem, &c. out of thee shall he come forth unto me, that is to be ruler in Israel.-Micah v. 2.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, &c. Behold, &c.-Zech. ix. 9.

Jesus; he shall be great, &c. And the Lord shall give him the throne of his father David, and he shall reign &c. for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.-Luke i. 31-33.

When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour, &c.-Luke xi. 21, 22.

We will not have this man to reign over us, &c. Those, mine enemies, &c. bring hither, and slay them, &c. -Luke xix. 14. 27.
