12 Laud JEHOVAH, O Jerusalem,

Praise thy God, O Sion.

13 For He strengtheneth the bars of thy gates; HE blesseth thy children within thee.

14 HE establisheth peace in thy borders,

HE filleth thee with the finest wheat.

15 HE sendeth forth His command upon the earth; His word runneth very swiftly.

16 HE giveth snow like wool;

HE scattereth abroad the hoar-frost like dust. 17 HE casteth down His hail in solid pieces! Before His cold, who can stand?

18 HE sendeth forth His word, and melteth them;
HE causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 HE declareth His commands unto Jacob

His statutes and judgments unto Israel.

20 HE hath not dealt thus with any other nation, Nor do they know His judgments.

Praise JEHOVAH, ye inhabitants of heaven,
Praise Him, ye who dwell on high.

2 Praise Him, all ye His angels,
Praise Him, all ye His hosts.

3 Praise Him, sun and moon,

Praise Him, all ye shining stars.

4 Praise Him, ye highest heavens,

And ye waters, which are above the heavens. 5 Let these praise the Name of JEHOVAH,

For He gave command, and they were created.

6 HE causeth them to abide for ever;

He gave them a law, which they cannot transgress. 7 Praise JEHOVAH, ye inhabitants of the earth, Ye sea-monsters and all deeps;

8 Ye lightnings and hail, ye snow and mist,

Thou, stormy wind, which executest His command; 9 Ye mountains and all hills,

Ye trees bearing fruit and all cedars;

10 Ye wild beasts and all cattle,

Ye creeping things and winged birds; 11 Ye kings of the earth and all nations, Ye princes and all rulers of the earth; 12 Young men and maidens,

Old men and children.

13 Let these praise the Name of JEHOVAH,
For His Name alone is highly exalted-
His glory is above heaven and earth.

14 HE raiseth on high the horn of His people,
He is the praise of all His pious worshippers-
Of the children of Israel-

Of the people which is nigh unto Him!

PSALM CXLIX.

1 PRAISE ye JEHOVAH!

Sing unto JEHOVAH a new song;

Sing His praise in the assembly of His worshippers. 2 Let Israel rejoice in Him who made him; Let the children of Sion exult in their King. 3 Let them praise His Name in the dance; With timbrel and harp, let them hymn unto Him. 4 For JEHOVAH showeth favour unto His people; HE adorneth the lowly with His salvation.

5

His pious worshippers exult in their minds,
They sing aloud upon their beds.

6 The praises of God are in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword is in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen—
Chastisement upon the nations;

8 To bind their kings with chains,

And their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 To execute upon them the recorded sentence ! This honour have all His pious worshippers.

Praise God for His holiness,

Praise Him for the expanse, the work of His power. 2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds,

Praise Him for His abundant greatness.

3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet, Praise Him with the lute and harp.

4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance,

Praise Him with stringed instruments and the psaltery.

5 Praise Him with the soft cymbals,

Praise Him with the loud cymbals.
