TUESDAY EVENING.

The Family being met together, let the Master say the Sentence of Scripture that follows, and then that which is written after the said Sentence.

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws which he set before us. Daniel, ix.

9, 10.

Let us pray.

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Ans. Christ, have mercy upon us,

Lord, have mercy upon us.*

a Evening Prayer.

a

General Confession, by the Master and
Family, all kneeling.

O MOST mighty God, and merciful Father, who hast compassion upon all men,

and hatest nothing that thou hast made; who wouldest not the death of a sinner, but that he should rather turn from his sin, and be saved; Mercifully forgive us our trespasses; Receive and comfort us, who are grieved and wearied with the burden of our sins. Thy property is always to have mercy; to thee only it appertaineth to forgive sins. Spare us, therefore, good Lord, spare thy people, whom thou hast redeemed; Enter not into judgment with thy servants, who are vile earth, and miserable sinners; But so turn thine anger from us, who meekly acknowledge our vileness, and truly repent us of our faults, and so make haste to help us in this world, that we may ever live with thee in the world to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

b Commination.

Prayer for Mercy, to be said by the

Master.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, mercifully look upon our infirmities, and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer, to be said by the
Master and Family.

OUR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, and ever. Amen.

O Lord, shew thy mercy upon us.

Collect of the Day.

For Grace.

O LORD, raise up (we pray thee) thy power, and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us; through the

satisfaction of thy Son, our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

For God's Direction and Preservation.

O ALMIGHTY LORD, and everlasting God, vouchsafe, we beseech thee, to direct, sanctify, and govern, both our hearts and bodies in the ways of thy laws, and in the works of thy commandments; that, through thy most mighty protection, both here and ever, we may be preserved in body and soul; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.f

For God's Blessing on this his Family.

ALMIGHTY GOD, we beseech thee graciously to behold this thy family, for which our Lord Jesus Christ was contented to be betrayed, and given up into the hands of wicked men, and to suffer death upon the cross, who now liveth and reigneth with
