f

WORSHIP the King,
All-glorious above;

O gratefully sing

His power and His love;
Our shield and Defender,
The Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendour,
And girded with praise.

f2 O tell of His might,

O sing of His grace,
Whose robe is the light,
Whose canopy, space;
His chariots of wrath

The deep thunder-clouds form;
And dark is His path

On the wings of the storm.

mf [3 The earth with its store
Of wonders untold,
Almighty! Thy power
Hath founded of old;
Hath stablished it fast

By a changeless decree,
And round it hath cast

Like a mantle, the sea.]

mf 4 Thy bountiful care

What tongue can recite!
It breathes in the air,
It shines in the light,
It streams from the hills,
It descends to the plain,
And sweetly distils

In the dew and the rain.

5 Frail children of dust, And feeble as frail, cr In Thee do we trust,

Nor find Thee to fail; mf Thy mercies how tender, How firm to the end, Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

f 6 O measureless might! Ineffable love! While angels delight

To hymn Thee above, dim The humbler creation, Though feeble their lays, cr With true adoration

Shall lisp to Thy praise. Amen.

And God of love:

f Jehovah, Great I AM!

By earth and heaven confest ;
I bow and bless the sacred Name,
For ever blest.

inf 2 The God of Abraham praise,
At Whose supreme command
From earth I rise and seek the joys
At His right hand :

I all on earth forsake,

Its wisdom, fame, and power; cr And Him my only Portion make My Shield and Tower.

f 3 The God of Abraham praise,
Whose all sufficient grace
Shall guide me all my happy days,
In all my ways.

He calls a worm His friend,
He calls Himself my God,
And He shall save me to the end
Through Jesu's blood.

mf 4 He by Himself hath sworn,
I on His oath depend;

cr

I shall, on eagle's wings upborne,
To heaven ascend:

I shall behold His face,

I shall His power adore,

/ And sing the wonders of His grace For evermore.

PART II.

mf 1 The goodly land I see,

With peace and plenty blessed;
A land of sacred liberty

And endless rest:
There milk and honey flow,
And oil and wine abound;
And trees of life for ever grow,
With mercy crowned.

mf 2 There dwells the Lord our King,
The Lord our righteousness;
f Triumphant o'er the world and sin,
The Prince of peace

On Sion's sacred height
His kingdom still maintains,
cr And glorious, with His saints in light,
For ever reigns.

PRAISE the Lord, ye heavens adore ƒ3 Praise the Lord, for He is glorious:

Him;

Praise Him, angels, in the height; Sun and moon, rejoice before Him; Praise Him, all ye stars and light. f2 Praise the Lord, for He hath spoken; Worlds His mighty voice obeyed: Laws which never shall be broken, For their guidance He hath made.

Never shall His promise fail. cr God hath made His saints victorious: Sin and death shall not prevail.

f4 Praise the God of our salvation,

Hosts on high His power proclaim; ff Heaven and earth, and all creation Laud and magnify His name. Amen.

fILL Thou my life, O Lord my God, mf 4 Fill every part of me with praise:

In every part with praise,

That my whole being may proclaim
Thy being and Thy ways.

f2 Not for the lip of praise alone,
Nor e'en the praising heart,
I ask, but for a life made up
Of praise in every part.

mf 3 Praise in the common things of life, Its goings out and in;

[blocks in formation]

dim

Let all my being speak

Of Thee and of Thy love, O Lord!

Poor though I be, and weak.

f 5 So shalt Thou, Lord, from me, e'en nie, Receive the glory due;

And so shall I begin on earth
The song for ever new.

mf 6 So shall no part of day or night
From sacredness be free;

f But all my life, in every step,

Be fellowship with Thee. Amen.
