`much as all men are conceived and born in sin, and that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and they that are in the flesh cannot please God, but live in sin, committing many actual transgressions ; and that our Saviour Christ saith, None can enter into the kingdom of God, except he be regenerate and born anew of water and the Holy Ghost; I beseech you to call upon God the Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, that, of his bounteous mercy, he will grant to these persons that which by nature they cannot have; that they may be baptized with water and the Holy Ghost; and received into Christ's holy church; and be made lively members of the same.-Almighty God, grant that the persons, now to be baptized, may receive the fulness of thy grace, and ever remain in the number of thy faithful and elect children. -Seeing now that these persons are regenerate, and grafted into the body of Christ's church, let us give thanks unto Almighty God for these benefits, and with one accord make our prayers unto him, that they may lead the rest of their life according to this beginning.

Catechism. In my Baptism I was made a member of Christ, the child of God, and an inheritor of the kingdom of heaven.-God the Son hath redeemed me and all mankind. God the Holy Ghost hath sanctified me, and all the elect people

of

of God.-I heartily thank our heavenly Father that he hath called me to this state of salvation, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; and I pray unto God to give me his grace, that I may continue in the same unto my life's end.-I desire my Lord God to send his grace unto me, and unto all people.

Confirmation Service. Do ye here, in the presence of God and of this congregation, renew the solemn promise and vow that was made in your name at your Baptism; ratifying and confirming the same in your own persons, and acknowledging yourselves bound to believe, and to do, all those things which your godfathers and godmothers then undertook for you?-Almighty and everliving God, who hast vouchsafed to regenerate these thy servants by water and the Holy Ghost, and hast given unto them forgiveness of all their sins ; strengthen them, we beseech thee, with the Holy Ghost the Comforter; and daily increase in them thy manifold gifts of grace.

Order for the Visitation of the Sick. Forasmuch as after this life there is an account to be given to the righteous judge, by whom all must be judged, without respect of persons; I require you to examine yourself, and your estate, both toward God and man; so that accusing and condemning yourself for your own faults, you may find mercy

at

at our heavenly Father's hand, for Christ's sake.Give him unfeigned repentance for all the errors of his life past, and steadfast faith in thy Son Jesus, that his sins may be done away by thy mercy, and his pardon sealed in heaven, before he go hence, and be no more seen.

Burial Service. O God, most mighty, O holy and merciful Saviour, thou most worthy judge eternal, suffer ús not at our last hour, for any pains of death, to fall from thee. We give thee hearty thanks, for that it hath pleased thee to deliver this our brother out of the miseries of this sinful world; beseeching thee that it may please thee, of thy gracious goodness, shortly to accomplish the number of thine elect, and to hasten thy kingdom.
