Many thousands of the grown-up population in London are what we call communicants, at our different places of worship.--But one fears that even they are not all real worshippers. You remember what hypocrite partook with Christ, at the first Lord's supper. Fifth scholar.--Judas Iscariot. Teacher.--And Judas--? Fourth scholar.--Betrayed Christ. Teacher.--And so many a person who partakes of the communion of the body and blood of Christ, may inwardly care little for Christ, and at last become a cast away. Now this is fearful work. How do you think we ought to be affected by the fact, that so few will be found at the right hand? Fourth scholar.--We should take care that we are among the number. Teacher.--Yes. When Christ was asked upon earth, whether there were few that should be saved, Census 1851--2,362,236. his answer was, "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." (13th chap. Luke, 24th ver.) Oh, what earnest striving should there be to enter in at this strait gate. And those who enter in are called--? First scholar.--The sheep. Teacher--And placed--? Second scholar.--On the right hand. Teacher.--Yes; and a right hand place at the side of Christ will be worth a million of worjds at that hour, --it will then be saved or lost for ever. Now, in the next verse we find into what place Jesus introduces his people. First scholar, ver. 34.--" Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."
