WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Praise ye the Lord; praise the Lord, O my soul.

While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Which made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners.

The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord. Ps. cxlvi. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10.

LET US PRAY.

O Almighty and most merciful God our heavenly Father, who hast permitted us to see the light of another day in health and safety; we now come into Thy presence, not trusting in our own merits, but that Thou wilt accept our prayers through the mediation of our Saviour, who liveth at Thy right hand to make intercession for us, unworthy sinners. We humbly thank Thee for Thy kindly care of us during the past night, and implore Thy merciful protection during this day. O make us diligent in our several callings, remembering that our time is not our own, for we are professing servants of a heavenly Master. We desire, O Lord, to feel more keenly the weight of our sin. Grant us more humble and child

like spirits; make us meek and lowly, as our blessed Saviour set us the example. Have mercy upon those that know not Thee. Draw them to Thee with cords of love, that they may finally become with us partakers of thy heavenly blessings, through the merits of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings.

MAL. iv. 2.

Come, holy Sun of heavenly love,
Shower down thy radiance from above;
And to our inward hearts convey

The Holy Spirit's cloudless ray.

And we the Father's help will claim,
And sing the Father's glorious name;

His powerful succour we implore,
That we may stand and fall no more.

May He our actions deign to bless,
And loose the bonds of wickedness;
From sudden falls, our feet defend,

And bring us to a prosperous end.

May faith deep rooted in the soul,
Subdue our flesh, our minds controul:
May guile depart, and discord cease,
And all within be joy and peace.

O hallowed be, the approaching day!
Let meekness be our morning ray;
And faithful love our noonday light;
And hope our sunset, calm and bright.

O Christ! with each returning morn,
Thine image to our hearts is borne ;
O may we ever clearly see

Our Saviour, and our God, in Thee.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and

ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened Luke xi. 9.
