-Luke 9:44.

Let these sayings sink down into your ears.

JULY

DARKNESS

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the 9 world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

10

John 3:19

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh John to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

3:20

11

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of dark-
ness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how
great is that darkness!

Matt. 6:23

And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: 12 there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matt.

25:30

Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not 13 darkness.

Luke 11:35

Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have 14 the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

John 12:35

15

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness.

John 12:46

Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the Bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.

-John 6:49, 58.

And the word which ye hear is not mine,
but the Father's which sent me.

SALVATION

-John 14:24

JULY

John Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, 12:27 save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto 16 this hour.

John 4:22

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship:
for salvation is of the Jews.

17

Luke 19:9

This day is salvation come to this house.

18

Luke

19:10

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than John all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's 19 10:29 hand.

Mark

8:35

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same 20 shall save it.

Matt. 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be
saved.

21

Mark 13:20

And except that the Lord had shortened those days no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath 22 chosen, he hath shortened the days.

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give In a stone? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

-Luke 11:11, 13.

For the Bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.—John 6:33 THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD

JULY

23

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of
this world cometh and hath nothing in me.

24

Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
cause the prince of this world is judged.

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham,
whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed
from this bond on the Sabbath day?

And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself;
how shall then his kingdom stand? And if I by Beelzebub
cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out?
therefore they shall be your judges.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good 27 things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

I know that ye are of Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me,
because my word hath no place in you.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speak-
eth of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:44

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that Bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true Bread from heaven.

-John 6:32.

I am the living Bread which came down from heaven.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

-John 6:51.

John I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am 10:14 known of mine.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice:
and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before
them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall Matt. separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

33

Matt.

15:24

I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one Matt. of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, 18:12 and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

Matt.

18:13

And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth
more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went
not astray.

How many loaves have ye? Go and see. Make the men sit down. Give ye them to eat.

If any man eat of this Bread, he shall live forever.

It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him 6 through whom they come! And blessed is he, who

It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about
his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend
one of these little ones.

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea,
and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and
when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money:
that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs
be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the
offence cometh! . And blessed is he whosoever shall

10

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off,
and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into
life halt and maimed, rather than having two hands or two
feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Matt. 18:8

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from 11 thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Matt. 18:9

All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is Matt. 12 written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
