Let them praise the name of the Lord; for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord. AMEN.

LOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled; though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill and to thy tabernacles.

I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities.

In God have I put my trust.

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great and thy footsteps are not known.

waters;

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Into thine hand I commit my spirit;

Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. AMEN.

BLESSE

PSALM OF BEATITUDES.

LESSED is the man whom thou choosest, O Lord, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts.

Blessed is the man whose delight is in the law of the Lord.

Blessed is the man that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from any evil.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven; whose sin is pardoned.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity; in whose spirit there is no guile.

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord; that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside. to lies.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, that thou mayest teach him out of thy law, and give him patience in the day of adversity.

AMEN.

XXXVII.

THE CALL AND PROMISE.

Is. LV.

O, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which satisfieth not?

Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live:

And I will make an everlasting covenant with you; even the sure mercies of David.

Seek ye the Lord while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the

Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth :

It shall not return unto me void; but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with

peace:

The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree;

And it shall be to the Lord for a name, everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

for an

AMEN.
