brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity; that we may not be unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

O Lord, make us more thankful for the mercies we are daily receiving, and more desirous for a complete conformity to thy will. May our hearts glow with gratitude, while our lips are praising thee; and may thy glory and our salvation, be our constant aim.

Grant

that we may love thee with all our heart, and mind, and soul, and strength may it be our delight, to do and suffer all thy righteous will.

We beseech thee to have mercy upon all mankind. Do thou bring

all men to the knowledge and love of thee, and may they daily seek their mercies and their happiness from thee. Grant that every rebellious spirit may be subdued to the obedience of Christ, and may thy love rule in their hearts: May grace reign in them through righteousness, to eternal life, till the whole earth shall be filled with thy glory.

We beseech thee to bless our nation, and all ranks and orders of men. We are highly exalted with privileges, may we also be a people fearing God, and working righteousness. Bless our gracious Sovereign, whom thy Providence has set over us. "Endue him with thy Holy Spirit; enrich him with thy hea

venly grace; prosper him with all happiness, and bring him to thine everlasting kingdom." Bless all who are in authority under him, both in church and state. Grant that thy fear may dwell in their hearts, and may all their measures be directed to the advancement of thy glory, and the good of thy church and people. Grant that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, that true religion may flourish among us.

Hear our prayers, O merciful Lord, for our relations and friends. Quicken all who are dead in trespasses and sins, and make them alive to the things which belong to

their peace. Grant that all who are dear to us, in the ties of nature or friendship, may be devoted to thee. Look, in mercy, upon the fatherless and the widow, and turn their hearts unto thee. Be thou their protector, comforter, and guide through life; and make them fit for thy heavenly kingdom.

Accept and answer us, O Lord our God, for the sake of Jesus Christ, to whom with thee O Father, and the Holy Ghost, be ascribed all honour and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

THURSDAY EVENING.

ALMIGHTY GOD, whose name is holy, and who dwellest in the high and holy place; thou hast condescended to say, to that man thou wilt look, who is of an humble and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at thy word. As guilty, we fall low before thy footstool, and present our supplications through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Blessed Lord, we are assured that a broken and contrite heart
