Who can read the ChaEccluf. 50. racter of Simon, the Son of Onias, without believing fome fuch Solemnity would become our Cathedrals, however plain our Worship might be allow'd in leffer Churches?

That UNION is neceffary among Chriftians, and that Liturgies or Forms of Prayers are lawful, the two following Treatifes will make evident; but the Method for bringing about this Union I will not here prefume to lay down; that will better become the Labours of the Learned: But fure I am, that if proper Methods were purfued, Juch a godly Union might be contrived, as will fatisfy all or most Parties of Chriftians, fo as to leave different Customs and Ufages, different Liturgies and Services (as in the ancient Churches) and yet all may agree in the Effentials, both of Doctrine and Worship; following in indifferent Things the Rule of T. p. 229.
