15. JUDGE | me,-O | God, And plead my cause against | an—un | god—ly | nation: O deliver | me From the deceitful | an-d | un-just | man. For thou art the | God of-my | strength; Why go-I mourning Because of the op | pres-sion | of—the | enemy. O send out thy | light and-thy | truth: Let them bring me unto thy | ho—ly | hill, Then will I go unto the altar-of | God, Will I praise | thee,—O | God—my | God. Why art thou cast down, | O—my | soul? For I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my counten-ance, | and-my | God. | 16. I SAID I will take | heed to-my | ways, I was dumb-with | silence, And-my | sorrow-was | stirred. My heart was | hot-with | in me, Then | spake-I | with-my | tongue, Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, | what-it | is; That I may know-how frail-I | am. Behold thou hast made my days-as an | handbreadth; And mine | age—is as | nothing—be | fore thee; Verily every man at his best state is | altogether | vanity. Surely every man | walk-eth | in a-vain | show; Surely they are dis | quieted-in | vain : He heapeth up riches, and who shall gather them. knoweth-not | And now, Lord, what | wait-I | for? Deliver me from | all my-transgressions: Make me not the reproach | of-the | foolish. I was dumb, I opened | not-my | mouth : Remove thy stroke a | wa-y | from me: I am consumed | by-the | blow of―thine hand. When thou-with re | bukes Dost correct | man-for in | iquity, Thou makest his beauty to consume a waylike a moth: Surely ever-y | man-is | vanity. Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear | unto1 my cry; Hold | not-thy | peace at-my tears; For I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers | were. O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go | hence,—and | be-no | more. 17. HAVE mercy up | on me,-O | God, Blot-out | my-transgressions. Wash me throughly from | mine—in | iquity, For I acknowledge my-transgressions: Against thee, thee only, | have-I | sinned, And be | clear | when-thou | judgest. Behold, I was shapen-in in | iquity; And in sin-did my mother-conceive me. | Behold, thou desirest truth in the | in-ward | parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt | make— me to kno-w | wisdom. 1 Purge me with hyssop, and | I-shall be | clean; Wash me, and | I-shall be | whiter-than | snow. Make me to hear | joy-and | gladness; That the bones which thou hast | bro-ken | may-rejoice. Hide thy face from-my | sins, Cast me not a way from-thy | presence; Then will I teach trans | gressors-thy | ways; And sinners shall be con | vert―ed | un—to | thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my-salvation; And my tongue shall sing a loud of-thy | righteousness. O Lord, open thou-my | lips; And my mouth | shall-show [ forth-thy | praise. 1 For thou desirest not sacrifice; | else would-I | give it: Thou de lightest-not | in-burnt | offering. The sacrifices of God are a | bro-ken | spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O | God,-thou | wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure | un-to | Zion: Build | thou-the walls of Je | rusalem. Then shalt thou-be | pleased With the sacrifices-of | righteousness, offering; whole-burnt | Then shall they offer | bullocks-up | on-thine | altar. |
