1.

BLESSED | is-the | man That walketh not in the un godly,

counsel—of | the

Nor standeth in the way-of❘ sinners;

Nor sitteth | in-the seat of-the | scornful:

But | his-de | light

[ocr errors]

Is in the law of the | Lord;

And in-his | law

Doth he | medi-tate | day—and | night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the | rivers of water,

That bringeth | forth-his | fruit-in his |

season;

His leaf also shall-not wither;

And whatsoever-he | doeth-shall | prosper.

The ungodly are not so:

But are like the chaff which the | wi-nd | driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not | stand-in the | judgment,

Nor sinners in the congre | ga-tion | of—the | righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of-the | righteous;

But the way of the-un | godly—shall | perish.

2.

HEAR me when—I | call,

O | God—of my | right-eous | ness:

Thou hast enlarged me when I was | in-dis | tress;

Have mercy up on me,-and | hear-my | prayer.

O ye sons- -of men,

How long will ye turn my glo-ry | in-to |

shame ?

How long will | ye-love | vanity,

And se-ek | af―ter | leasing?

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself:

--

The Lord will hear when I | call-unto | him. Stand in awe and | sin not:

Commune with your own heart upon your be-d, and-be | still.

Offer the sacrifices of | righteousness,
And put your tru-st | in-the | Lord.
There be many-that say,

Who will show-usa-ny good?

Lord, lift-thou | up

The light of thy countenance-up❘ on us.
Thou hast put gladness | in-my heart,
More than in the time that their corn-
and their wine-in | creased.

--

I will both lay me down in | peace-and | sleep: For thou, Lord, only | makest-me | dwell—in | safety.

3.

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in | all-the earth!

Who hast set thy | glory-a | bove-the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength be | cause of-thine | enemies,

That thou mightest still the | ene-my | andthe avenger.

When I consider thy heavens, the | work ofthy fingers,

[ocr errors]

The moon and the stars-which | thou hastor dained;

What is man, that thou art | mindful-of | him? And the son of | man, that-thou | visit-est | him?

For thou hast made him a little lower thanthe angels,

And hast crowned | him-with | glory-and |

honour.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of-thy | hands;

Thou hast put | all-things | under—his | feet :

All | sheep-and | oxen,

Yea, and the | beasts of the | field;

The fowl of the air, and the | fish of-the | sea, And whatsoever passeth through-the | paths of the seas.

O Lord-our | Lord,

How excellent is thy | name-in | all-the | earth!

4.

PRESERVE | me,-O | God:

For in thee-do I | put-my | trust.

[ocr errors]

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, I Thou art-my | Lord:

My goodness ex | tend-eth | not-to | thee ;

But to the saints that are | in-the | earth, And to the excellent, in whom-is | all-my de light.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after an | other | god:

Their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names-in | to-my | lips.

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance | and of-my | cup:

Thou | mai-n | tainest-my | lot.

The lines are fallen unto me in | pleasant | places:

Yea, I have-a | good-ly | heritage.

I will bless the Lord, who hath | given-me | counsel :

My reins also in | struct-me | in the-night |

seasons.

I have set the Lord | always-be | fore me:

Because he is at my right | hand,—I | shall not— be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my | gloryrejoiceth:

My flesh also-shall | rest—in | hope.

For thou wilt not leave my soul-in | hell; Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy | One-to | see-corruption.

Thou wilt show me the path-of | life :
In thy presence-is | fulness-of joy:
At thy-right | hand

[ocr errors]

There are pleasures-for | ev-er
-er | more.

5.

THE Lord is my shepherd; I shall—not | want. He maketh me to lie-down | in-green | pastures:

He leadeth me beside the | sti-II | waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteous-ness | for-his | name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the | shadow of death,

I will fear no evil :

For thou-art with me;

Thy | rod and—thy | staff-they | comfort me.

Thou preparest a | table-be | fore me
In the pre-sence of-mine | enemies :
Thou anointest my | head-with | oil :
My cu-p run-neth | over.

Surely goodness-and | mercy

Shall follow me | all-the | days of my life: And I will dwell

In the house of the | Lord-for | ever.
