Sida 11 - The manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors to be used as a beverage shall be prohibited. The general assembly shall provide by law for carrying this article into effect.

Sida 10 - Hence, one of the ends of discipline, as laid down in our standards, is "the removal of offences" from the Church of Christ. In the very outset, then, it becomes necessary to ascertain what is an offence. In our Book of Discipline, it is defined to be " anything in the principles or practice of a church member, which is contrary to the word of God, or which, if it be not in its own nature sinful, may tempt others to sin, or mar their spiritual edification.

Sida 70 - The entire extinction of the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors as a beverage is the goal to which the assembly looks forward, and for the accomplishment of which it expects the earnest, united, determined and persistent labors of all its ministers THE METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH. 443 and people, in connection with the religious and sober citizens of our common country.
Sida 46 - Alaska, shall remain in full force except as herein specially otherwise provided; and the importation, manufacture, and sale of intoxicating liquors in said district, except for medicinal, mechanical, and scientific purposes, is hereby prohibited under the penalties which are provided in section 1955 of the Revised Statutes for the wrongful importation of distilled spirits; and the President of the United States shall make such regulations as are necessary to carry out the provisions of this section.
