HYMN.

Jesus Christ is risen to-day,
Our triumphant holiday;

Who did once, upon the cross,
Suffer, to redeem our loss.

Hallelujah!

Hymns of praise then let us sing
Unto Christ, our heavenly King;
Who endur'd the cross and grave,
Sinners to redeem and save.

Hallelujah!

For the pains, which He endur'd,
Our salvation have procur'd;
Now above the sky He's King;
Where the Angels ever sing,

Hallelujah!

Unto God, the Three in One,

To the Father, to the Son,

To the Spirit, One in Three,

Evermore all glory be.

Hallelujah!

Easter Day.

ANTHEMS.

Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast; not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more : death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin; but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ is risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

DAILY SERVICE.

Thou art the King of Glory, O Christ.

When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death, thou didst open the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers. Te Deum.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people; and hath raised up a mighty salvation for us; that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. St. Luke i. O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things. With his own right hand,

and with his holy arm, hath he gotten himself the victory. The Lord declared his salvation; his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. Shew yourselves joyful unto the Lord, all ye lands; sing, rejoice, and give thanks. Ps. xcviii.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. PSALMS ii. lvii. cxi. cxiii. cxiv. cxviii. LESSONS. Exod. xii. xiv. Rom. vi. Acts ii. 22.

LITANY.

By thy glorious Resurrection,

Good Lord, deliver us.

That it may please thee to give to all thy people increase of grace, to hear meekly thy Word, and to receive it with pure affection, and to bring forth the fruits of the Spirit;

We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.

COLLECT.

Almighty God, who through thine only-begotten Son Jesus Christ hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life; we humbly beseech thee, that, as by thy special grace preventing us thou dost put into our minds good desires, so by thy continual help we may bring the same to good effect; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

EPISTLE.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right

hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth: for ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: for which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. In the which walked some time, when ye lived in them. GOSPEL. St. John xx. 1.

COMMUNION THANKSGIVING.

Lift up your hearts.

ye also

We lift them up unto the Lord.
Let us give thanks unto our Lord God.
It is meet and right so to do.

Col. iii.

It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto thee, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Everlasting God: but chiefly are we bound to praise thee for the glorious Resurrection of thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord: for he is the very Paschal Lamb, which was offered for us, and hath taken away the sin of the world; who by his death hath destroyed death, and by his rising to life again hath restored to us everlasting life. Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify thy glorious name; evermore praising thee, and saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of thy glory : Glory be to thee, O Lord most High. Amen.
