tion of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jefus. 2 Cor. i. 14. your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus. v. 2, 3, 4.—we groan earneftly, defiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from Heaven. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be uncloathed, but cloathed upon; that mortality might be fwallowed up of life. (Comp. 1 Cor. xv. 52, 53, 54.- the dead fhall be raised incorruptible, and we fhall be changed: For this corruptible muft put on incorruption, and this mortal muft put on immortality.. Then shall be brought to pafs the faying that is written, Death is fwallowed up in victory.) Eph. iv. 30.-grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are fealed unto the day of redemption. Rev. xi. 18. thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged; and that thou fhouldst give reward unto thy fervants the prophets, and to the faints; to them that fear thy name, small and great; and fhouldst destroy them that destroy the earth.

Add 1 Cor. xv. 52, 53, 54. as above, fect. viii. Phil. iii. 20, 21. For our converfation is in Heaven, from whence alfo we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jefus Chrift: who fhall change our vile body, that may be fashioned like unto his glorious body. crown of rejoicing? are not even fence of our Lord Jefus Chrift, at his coming. iv. 14, 15, 16, 17. For if we believe that Jefus died and rofe again, even fo them also which fleep in Jefus, will God bring with him. For this we fay unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are al.ve, and remain unto the coming of the Lord, fhall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself fhall defcend from Heaven with a fhout, with the voice of the arch-angel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Chrift fhall rife firft: Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and fo fhall we ever be with the Lord. 2 Theff. i. 6,7. It is a righteous thing with God to recompence tribulation to them that trouble you; and to you who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jefus fhall be revealed from Heaven. -10. when he shall come to be glorified in the faints, and to be admired of all them that believe in that day. 2 Tim. i. 18. The Lord grant unto him, that he may find mercy of the Lord, in that day. iv. 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness; which the Lord, the righteous judge, fhall give me at that day and not to me only; but unto all them that love his appearing. Heb. ix. 28.- Chrift was once offered to bear the fins of many: and unto them that look for him, fhall he appear the fecond time, without fin, unto falvation. 1 Pet. iv. 13. - rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Chrift's fufferings; that when his

glory fhall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. v. 4.— when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye fhall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 John iii. 2.- Now are we the fons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we fhall be; but we know, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we fhall fee him as he is.

XI. The refurrection is the grand object of our faith, hope, and comfort.

Acts xxiii. 6. — Paul cried out-of the hope and refurrection of the dead, I am called in question. xxiv. 15. I have hope towards God,-that there fhall be a refurrection of the dead, both of the juft and unjust. 1 Cor. i. 7, 8. Ye come behind in no
