may come and tell Him anything I like, and all I have done. knows all I want, and can do everything for me.

He lets me to Him just as father or mother would." Don't you think t that your prayer would be very different to what it now is ? should like to quote to you a child's prayer, because I think it show you that little George had grasped the great and glori truth that God was his dear, loving Father, and that betw them there might be the very happiest, childlike confidence a intercourse.

"My Father in heaven, I do love you. You make the sun shi You make the grass grow, and nobody can make such dear lit kittens as You do; You love me a lot more than mamma doe You make more things for me than she does. She cannot ma any flowers, but You make new flowers every day. I wish I cou see You. It will be nice to see You; I shall be so ashamed if Y don't like me. Please keep me close to You; make me a good chi to You, and some day let me come and live with You, for m Saviour Christ's sake. Amen."

That was George's prayer, which he prayed very quietly an reverently. It was just like a tiny child talking, you see; an when he read God's holy Word, he said he could almost fancy h heard God talking back to him.

Do get into the habit of consulting God about everything; tel Him your pleasures and sorrows, just as you would your mother I remember a little girl, I think she went by the pet name o Poppy, who taught me quite a lesson about this. She was playing ball in the passage one wet afternoon, when there was no chance of a pleasant walk, and the pantry door stood open, showing the freshly cleared desert in half-empty dishes. Three fine nectarines lay within reach, and somehow Poppy's ball was for ever bringing her within reach of the tempting fruit. At last she stood quite close, a hand went out-drew back-and then Poppy's head was bowed for a minute on her pinafore.

'What is it, Poppy ?" I asked, from the open dining-room door. "Oh, I was just going to take a nectarine, they looked so good, but I thought I had better stop first and ask Jesus if He had any objection."

words that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life." MATTHEW XVI. TO XXVI. 36.

EBRUARY 1.-Matt. xv. 19. “Out of the heart proceed," etc. See God's earliest testimony of man's heart (Gen. vi. 5; Jer. xvii. 9). Here comes in the value of the promise of "a new heart" (Ezekiel xxxvi. 26). -Chap. xv. 30. "Having with them," etc. What an enent to intercessory prayer! Are we bringing needy ones to Jesus, and finding John vi. 37 blessedly fulfilled?

-Chap. xvi. 9. Compare with this Israel's sin, which led to result, "limiting the Holy One" (Ps. lxxviii. 11, 41, 42). -Chap. xvi. 22. Note margin, "Pity Thyself." In other Save Thyself" (see Mark xv. 30; Luke xxiii. 39). Let us hrist's answer the truth of the words, "He saved others;

e cannot save."

-Chap. xvii. 1, 2. St. Luke (chap. ix. 29) adds "as He Connect this with the "beholding" of 2 Cor. iii. 18. Surely ticipated the prayer of John xvii. 24.

-Chap. xvii. 27. "Lest we should offend them."

Christ's

tenderness for the feelings of others shown in this incident, to us to yield our rights for the sake of others (see 1 Cor

-Chap. xviii. 3. "Become as little children." True knowurselves will make us teachable, dependent, humble (see 7; Matt. xi. 25).

Ch. xviii. 35. "From your hearts forgive." Notice the forgave thee all" (verse 32)-the measure-" even as I" (verse he manner of our forgiveness towards others taught us in See also Eph. iv. 32; Col. iii. 13.

-Ch. xix. 15. "He laid His hands on them." Christ's

touch always conveyed blessing, and "what He touches He claims. that we have this warrant for expecting blessing on "the little on Feb. 10. Ch. xix. 22, "He went away sorrowful." Mark the ef of choosing earthly gain instead of heavenly treasure, and contrast choice of Moses (Heb. xi. 25, 26; see also Phil. iii. 7, 8). Feb. 11.-Ch. xx. 15. "Is it not lawful for Me to do what I with Mine own?". It is only as we recognise that we are "not our o that we can gladly respond, "let Him do what seemeth Him good. Feb. 12.-Ch. xx. 21, 22. Notice how closely Christ links suffer and glory together; the one is the preparation for the other ( Luke xxiv. 26; Rom. viii. 18; 2 Cor. iv. 17; 1 Pet. v. 10).

Feb. 13.-Ch. xxi. 5. "Behold thy King cometh unto the And when He comes He brings "Salvation" (Zech. ix. 9), "He ing" (Luke x. 33, 34); "Peace and joy" (John xx. 19, 20). I us act as Mary did (John xi. 28, 29).

Feb, 14.-Ch. xxi. 22. "All things. ye shall receive." Conne the "all things" in the text with Rom. viii. 32, and see the fourfold co dition of successful prayer (Mark xi. 24; John xv. 7 ; 1 John iii. 22 1 John v. 14).

Feb. 15.-Ch. xxi. 37. "He sent unto them his Son." And s manifested His love (1 John iv. 9). See the manifold object for which "the Father sent the Son" (John iii. ́17; 1 John iv. 9, 10, 14). We may He ask, "What could have been done more ?" (Isa. v. 4).

Feb. 16.-Ch. xxii. 12. "Not having a wedding garment." Con nect with this Rev. xix. 7, 8. The "royal apparel" alone can fit us for the King's presence (see Isa. Ixi. 10; Luke xv. 22; Psalm xlv. 13, 14)

Feb. 17.-Ch. xxii. 22. What an illustration of "the tongue of the learned" given to Him! See His promise to His disciples (Luke xxi. 15) and fulfilment in Acts vi. 10.

Feb. 18.-Ch. xxii. 37. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart." Is it possible to obey this command? God promises to work in us "to will and to do" (see Deut. xxx. 6).

Feb. 19.-Ch. xxiii. 8, 10. "One is your Master-Christ." Therefore"whatsoever He saith unto you do it "(see Prov. xxvii. 18).

Feb. 20.-Ch. xxiii. 26. "Cleanse first that which is within." God's work ever begins from within. A cleansed heart must result in a holy life (see Matt. xii. 33; Psa. xlv. 13; 2 Cor. vii. 1; Heb. x. 22).

Feb. 21.-Ch. xxiii. 37. "How often would I-ye would not!" (see margin of 2 Chroņ. xxxvi. 15; Psa. lxxxi. 11, 13). Continued resistance compels Christ to leave us (Hosea iv. 17). Are we disappointing His yearning love?

DAILY BIBLE THOUGHts for the MONTH.

Feb. 22.-Ch. xxiv. 13. "Endure to the end." The secret of endurance is love (1 Cor. xiii. 7); and the power to endure " as seeing Him" (Heb. xi. 27; see Rev. ii. 10).

Feb. 23.-Ch. xxiv. 30. "Then shall all the tribes mourn." Contrast "the joy" of Isa. xxv. 9; lxvi. 5. “Every eye shall see Him," but

how?

Feb. 24.-Ch. xxiv. 44: "Therefore be ye also ready." This "readiness" involves watching with our hearts and working with our hands (verses 45, 46).

Feb. 25.-Ch. xxv. 3. "Took no oil." They only lacked "one thing," but it proved they were none of His (Rom. viii. 9). Let us take heed to the command (Eph. v. 14).

Feb. 26. Ch. xxv. 14. "His goods." "All things come of Thee, and of Thine own have we given Thee" (1 Chron. xxix. 14.) See how the early Christians realised this (Acts iv. 32).

Feb. 27.-Ch. xxv. 40. "Ye have done it unto Me." How this thought ought to make us rejoice to do the least service for others! What are we doing unto Him? He claims our whole life (2 Cor. v. 15). Feb. 28.-Ch. xxvi. 7. "Very precious." Love counts nothing too precious. She gave the best, and ever since that "good work" has been bearing fruit.

Feb. 29.-Ch. xxvi. 15. "Thirty pieces of silver." The price of a slave! Contrast how He has valued us! (1 Pet. i. 18, 19), and God's value of Him (Prov. iii. 14, 15).

The above stations (numbering 106) have been named to us up to January 12th, and with the fifteen named last month make 121 stations supplied. We feel deeply grateful for this; but only a commencement has been made which can be extended to other places, just as far as our readers incline to it. Several important stations, surrounded by numerous readers of LIVING WATERS, are still unsupplied.

We would explain that the Magazine should be taken to the station and actually placed on the waiting room table by the person who supplies it. A few have sent us stamps, with a request that we would supply particular stations by post. This we cannot do. In a few instances more than one have named the same station; but as those are mostly large stations with several waiting rooms, we have thought it best to leave it so.

Those who wish to supply their nearest station, should send us word to that effect. Address, The Rev. Ernest Boys, Sidcup, Kent. We hope to print another list in the March number.
