22 And Hezekiah fpake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feaft feven days, offering peace-offerings, and making confellion to the LORD God of their fathers.

23 And the whole affembly took counfel to keep other feven days: and they kept other feven days with gladness.

24 For Hezekiah king of Judah† did give to the congregation a thoufand bullocks, and feven thousand fheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks, and ten thoufana fheep and a great number of priests fanctified themselves.

25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the pricfts and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Ifrael, and the ftrangers that came out of the land of Ifrael, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoyced.

26 So there was great joy in Jerufalem: for fince the time of Solomon the fon of David king of Ifrael, there was not the like in Jerufalem.

37 Then the priests the Levites arofe, and blefled the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to this holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

Ow when all this was finished, all Ifrael that were pretent, went out to the cities 2 Kings of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places, and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraini alfo and Manalleh, funtil they had utterly deftroyed them all. Then all the children of Ifrael returned every man to his poffeflion into their own cities.

4 So there was gathered much people together, who ftopt all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midft of the land, faying Why should the kings of Allyria come, and finde much water?

5 Alfo he ftrengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and railed it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and fhields in abundance.

12 Hath not the fame Hezekiah taken away his high places, and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerufalem, laying, Ye fhall worship before one altar, and burn incenfe upon it?

13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? were the gods of the nations of thofe lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?"

14 Who was there among all the gods of thofe nations, that my fathers utterly deftroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God fhould be able to deliver you out of mine hand?

15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor perlivade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much lets fhall your God deliver you out of mine hand?

16 And his fervants fpake yet more against the LORD God,and against his fervant Hezekiah.

17 He wrote alfo letters to rail on the LORD God of Ifrael, and to speak against him, faying,

As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, fo fhall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand."

18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews fpeech unto the people of Jerufalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them, that they might take the city.

19 And they fpake against the God of Jerufa lem, as agaiuft the gods of the people of the earth which were the work of the hands of man. 20 And for this caufe Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Ifaiah the fun of Amozs prayed and cried to heaven.

20 So Manaffeh flept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own houfe, and Amon his fon reigned in his ftead.

21 Amon was two and twenty years old 21.19.& when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Ierufalem.

15 And Hilkiah antwered and faid to Shaphan the fcribe, I have found the book of the law in the houfe of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan:

16 And Shaphan carried the book to theking, and brought the king word back again, faying, All that was committed † to thy fervants, they do it.

17 And they have gathered together the money that was found in the houfe of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overfeers, and to the hand of the workmen.

18 Then Shaphan the fcribe told the king, faying, Hilkiah the priest hath given nie a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

19 And it came to pafs when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.

21 Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Ifrael, and in ludah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, becaufe our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.

22 And Hilkiah, and they that the king bad appointed, went to Huldah the prophetels, the wife of Shallum the ton of Tikvath, the fon of Hafrah, keeper of the wardrobe (now the dwelt in Ierufalem in the colledge) and they fpake to her to that effect.

23 And the answered them, Thus faith the LORD God of Ifrael, Tell ye the man that fent

you to me,

24 Thus faith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evilupon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curfes that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

25 Because they have forfaken me, and have burnt incenle unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath fhall be poured out upon this place, and fhall not be quenched,

26 And as for the king of Iudah, who fent you to enquire of the LORD; fo fhall ye fay to him, Thus faith the LORD God of Ifrael concerning the words which thou hast heard,"
