THE FIRST IN THE WORLD.

How

HE first brothers, of the first parents, of the first family in the world! we feel as if we should like to know all about them-where they lived, how they were dressed, what they ate and drank, what they talked about, and what they did.

But the Bible tells us very little about any of these things. Somewhere not very far from the Garden of Eden, in which their father and mother first lived, their dwelling might be; if dwelling in the shape of a hut or a house they then had. More likely is it that the first family made the hollow of some overshadowing rock their place of abode, with a bed of dry leaves for their sleeping place,
