blessings. We thank Thee for spiritual privileges and means of grace. O Lord, with shame we acknowledge, that it is through our own sin and unbelief alone that Thy Word has not been more profitable to us, and prayer more delightful.

We entreat Thee to bestow upon us Thy pardoning mercy. Forgive, we pray Thee, our many sins and shortcomings, negligences and ignorances. Forgive our wasted time and misemployed talents. We fly for refuge, O blessed Saviour, to Thy cross. We would wash in the fountain of Thy precious blood. O make us clean; purge away our stains of guilt; and let Thy love constrain us to love Thee more, and serve Thee better.

And now, O Lord, fit and prepare us for Thy day of rest. When we lie down this night upon our beds, may we lay aside for a while all those earthly cares which have harassed us through the week. Breathe into our minds a holy calmness, and let Thy peace fill our hearts. Grant

us such refreshing rest, as may strengthen us for the sacred employments of Thine own day. And do Thou awaken in us earnest desires after spiritual blessings. Lord, our eyes are unto Thee, and our expectations from Thee. Without Thee Sabbaths must be days of weariness, and solemn ordinances unprofitable. But be Thou Thyself with us on the morrow. May we begin Thy day in a holy, happy frame of mind, and enjoy Thy presence and blessing through all its sacred hours.

Take us now, O Lord, under Thy gracious care. As days and weeks pass away, may we be found growing in meetness for Thy kingdom. Thou knowest how short our time is: teach us to know and feel it also. Give us grace so to consider our latter end, as to be ever carefully preparing for it. Help us to redeem the time, and work whilst it is yet day. And when our earthly pilgrimage is ended, O take us to Thine everlasting rest, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day [or, day by day], our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all ever

Sunday Morning.

LMIGHTY GOD, who hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's name, we beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ear to us, who now, as a Christian family, kneel before Thee.

Make this, O Lord, a day of blessing to us all. Solemnise our feelings. May we spend much of the day with Thee. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Thy Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love Thee, and worthily magnify Thy holy name.

Go with us to Thy house, and be with

us when there. Keep the world and Satan out of our hearts. Give us, we beseech Thee, a devout and prayerful spirit. And do Thou, who art always more ready to hear than we to pray, and art willing to give more than either we desire or deserve, pour down upon us the abundance of Thy mercy. Forgive us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and give us those good things which we are not worthy to ask but through the merits of our Saviour.

Grant unto Thy Ministers (and especially to those who watch over us) Thy heavenly grace; and, that they may truly please Thee, pour upon them the continual dew of Thy blessing. May they be clothed with righteousness; and may Thy word spoken by their mouths have success, that it may never be spoken in vain.

Bless the preaching of Thy gospel in this place and throughout the world. O merciful God, who hatest nothing that
