One Hundred and Fifty-Gifth Thousand
LONGMANS, GREEN, AND
LONDON, NEW YORK, AND BOMBAY
OUR aim in the present volume has been simplicity of language, and directness of supplication. Feeling also that weariness too often accompanies the act of Family Worship, we have carefully observed a more than usual brevity in these
prayers. It is humbly hoped that some help may
be afforded to those who wish to approach the throne of grace with a single and earnest desire to obtain a blessing
It will be observed that the prayers arranged for the Fourth Week are clothed more or less in the language of the Liturgy.
May a spirit of grace and of supplication abundantly rest on all who take these words into their lips !
