The eight sunday after Trinity.
The Collect.

O God, whose never failing providence ordereth
all things both in heaven and earth; Wed
humbly beseech thee to put away from us all
hurtfull things, and to give us those things which
beg profitable for us, through Jesus Christ our
Lord.

Amen.

The Epistle.

Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to Rom. 8. 12. live after the flesh ffor if ye live after the flesh, ye shall dye but if ye through the Spirit do mortifie the deeds of the body; ye shall live. ffor as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the songs of God. ffor ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear: but ye have received the Spirit of adoption whereby weg cry, Abba father. The Spirit itself beareth witnesse with our spirit, that wee are the children of God, And if children, then heires: heires of God, and joint heires with Christ if so beg that wee suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Ye shall know them by theire fruits: doe men
gather grapes of thornes, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good
fruit but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit;

fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good
fruit, is hewn down and cast into the fire. Where-

But with many of them God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wildernesse. Now these things were our examples, to the intent wee should not lust after evill things, as they

Neither let us comi fornication, as some of them comitted, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neith murmure ye, as some of them also murmurred, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the

There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is tomon to man; but God is faithfull, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make way to escape, that ye may be able to beare it.
