Sida 547 - No act shall take effect, until the same shall have been published and circulated in the several counties of the State, by authority, except in case of emergency ; which emergency shall be declared in the preamble, or in the body of the law.

Sida 537 - Powers and duties of overseers of the poor. 1863, c. 240. 1865, c. 162. 1867, c. 209. 1871, c. 370. [General Statutes, chap. 70.] SECTION 1. Every city and town shall relieve and support all poor and indigent persons lawfully settled therein, whenever they stand in need thereof.
