PSALM S. and prayeth for God's affiliance.

A Song or Pfalm of David.
God, my heart is fixed; I will fing and
give praife, even with my glory.

2 Awake, pfaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

31 will praife thee, O LORD, among the people and I will fing praifes unto thee among the nations.

4 For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; 6 That thy beloved may be delivered: fave with thy right hand, and answer me.

7 God hath fpoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

8 Gilead is mine; Manaffeh is mine; Ephraim alfo is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

y Moab is my wathpot; over Edom will I caft out my thoe; over Philiftia will I triumph.

10 Who will bring me into the ftrong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not thou, O God, who haft caft us off and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hofts?

12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we fhall do valiantly: for he it is that thall tread down our enemies. PSALM CIX.

3 They compaffed me about alfo with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

4 For my love they are my adverfaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

S And they bave rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan ftand at his right hand.

7 When he thall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become

8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them feek their bread elfo out of their defolate places.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

PRAISE ye the LORD. I will praife the LORD with my whole heart, in the af fembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the LOPD are great, fought out of all them that have pleasure therein. 3 His work is honourable and glorious: and

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compartic..

5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him he will ver be mindful of his covenant. 6 He hath dhewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are fure. 8 They ftand fat for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

9 He fent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

15 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have ali they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

PSALM CXII.

1 Godliness hath the promifes of this life, 4 and of the life to come. in The profperity of the godly shall be an eyefore to the wicked. Peareth the LORD, that delighteth RAISE ye the LORD. Bleffed is the man greatly in his commandments.

2 His feed thall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright thall be bleffed.

3 Wealth and riches balt be in his houfe: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 no the upright there arifech light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compaision, and righteous.

5 A good man thewech favour, and leadeth: he will guide his affairs with difcretion. 6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous thall be in everlasting remem brance.

7 He thall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8 His heart is established, he thall not be a fraid, until he fee his defire upon his enemies. 9 He hath difpered, he hath given to the poor; his righteoufnefs endurein or ever; his horn fhall be exalted with bonour.

PSALM CXIV. exhortation, by the example of the dumb creatures, to fear God in bis church. HFN Ifrael went out of Egypt, the

house of Jacob from a people of strange

language;

2 Judah was his fanctuary, and Ifrael his dominion.

3 The fea faw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

4 The mountains skipped like tams, and the little hills like lambs.

5 What afled thee, O thou fea, that thou feddeft? thou Jordan, that thon watt driven back?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs

7 Tremble, thou earth, at the prefence of the LORD, at the prefence of the God of Jacob;

8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. PSALM CXV.

Because God is truly glorious, 4 and idols are vanity, 9 he exhorteth to confidence in God. 12 God is to be praised for his blej ngs. NOT OT unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mer cy, and for thy truth's fake.

2 Wherefore thould the heathen say, Where is now their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatfoever he pleased.

4 Their idols are filver and gold, the work of men's hands

5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they fee not:

6 They have ears, bu they hear not: noses have they, but they finell not.

7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither fpeak they through their throat.

8 They that make them are like unto them; fo is every one that truiteth in then.

90 Ifrael, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their fhield.

Sundry prayers and praises.

The pfalmifi profeffeth his love and duty to God for his deliverance; 12 he fludicth to be thankful.

Love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my fupplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live, 3 The forrows of death compared me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and forrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my foul.

5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous: yea, our God is merciful.

6 The LORD preferveth the fimple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Return unto thy reft, O my foul! for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. 8 For thou hart delivered my foul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 I faid in my hate, All men are liars. 12 What thail I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of falvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now In the prefence of all his people.

15 Precious in the fight of the LORD is the death of his faints.

16 O LORD, truly I am thy fervant; I am thy fervant, and the fon of thine handmaid: thou haft loofed my bonds.

171 will offer to thee the facrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the prefence of all his people,

12 They compañed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will deftroy them.

13 Thou haft thrust for at me, that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.

14 The LORD is my Arength and fong, and is Lecome my falvation.

15 The voice of rejoicing and falvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. 17 I thall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18 The LORD hath chaftened me fore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

19 Open to me the gates of righteouf nefs: I will go into them, and I will praife the LORD:

20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous thall enter.

21 I will praile thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my falvation.

22 The flone which the builders refufed is become the head one of the corner.

23 This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, fend now profperity.

26 Bleiled be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have bleifed you out of the houfe of the LORD.

27 God is the LORD, which hath thewed us light, bind the facrifice with cords, "ven unto the horns of the altar.

28 Thou art my God and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

94 I am thine, fave me; for I have fought thy precepts.

95 The wicked have waited for me to defroy me: but I will conûder thy teftimonies.

96 I have feen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. MM.

97 O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day.

98 Thou through thy commandments, hait made me wifer than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy teftimonies are my meditation.

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

106 I have fworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. 107 I am afflicted very much quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.

108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewillofferings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.

109 My foul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.

110 The wicked have laid a fnare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.

III Thy teftimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

112 I have inclined mine heart to perform thy ftatutes alway, even unto the end. SAMECH.

113 I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love. 114 Thou art my hiding place and my fhield: I hope in thy word."

115 Depart from me, ye evil doers: for will keep the commandments of my God.

116 Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.

117 Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe : and I will have refpect unto thy statutes con. tinually.

118 Thou haft trodden down all them that err from thy ftatutes: for their deceit is falfehood.

119 Thou putteft away all the wicked of the earth like drofs: therefore I love thy teftimonies.

120 My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.

121 I have done judgment and juftice: leave me not to mine oppreffors.

122 Be furety tor thy ferant for good: let not the proud of prefs me.

123 Mine eyes fail for thy falvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

124 Deal with thy fervant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy ftatutes.

125 I am thy fervant; give me understands ing, that I may know thy testimonies.

126 it is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law."

127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every falfe way.
