The Queen herself, the charming Queen should

grace

The noble piece, and in an artful place

Her fears for him her prudence for the flate?
Difguifing cares, she smooth'd her looks with
Arace,

Doubts in her heart, and pleafure in her face.
As danger did approach, her firits refe,
And, putting on the king, dilmay'd his foes.
New, all in joy, the gilds the chearful court;
In every glance defcending angels fport.
As on the hills of Cynthus, of the meads
Of tbol Eurotas, whin Diana leds
The chorus of her Nymphs, who there adyance
A thousand shining maids, and form the dance;
The fately Goddess with a graceful pride,
Bweet and majelic, dees the figure guide,
Preading in juft and eafy reafures round;
The filver arrows on her houlder found;

ANDYKE had colours, softness, fire, and art,

VANDYKE had

fire, and art,

Waller had numbers, fancy, wit, and fire,
And Sachariffa was his fond desire.
Why then at Althrop feem her charms to faint,
In thefe fweet numbers and that glowing paint?
This happy feat a fairer mistress warms;
This fhining offspring has eclips'd her charms:
The different beauties in one face we find;
Soft Amoret with brighteft Sacharissa join'd.
As high as Nature reach'd, their art could foar ;
But the ne'er made a finish'd piece before.
