Cow thefe are the names of thildren of Ifrael which came into Egypt, every man and his houf hold came with Jacob. 2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Iudah,

3 Inachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4 Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Ather.

5 And all the fouls that came our of the loins o. Jacob, were feventy fouls for Jofeph was in Egypt already.

6 And Jofeph died, and all his brethren, and all thar generation,

7 And the children of Ifrael were fruitful, and increafed abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed ex ceeding mighty; And the land was filled with them. 8 Now there arofe up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Jofeph.

9 And he faid unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Ifrael. are moe and mightier than

we.

10 Come on, let us deal wifely with them: left they multiply, and it come to pafs, that when there fal leth out any war; they joyn alfo unto our enemies, and fight against us, and to get them up out of the land.

11 Therefore they didfet over them task maiters, to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh creature cities. Pitham and Raamfes.

12 But the more they af. Afted them, the more they multiplied and grew; And they were grieved because

14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of fervice in the field: all their fervice,wherein they made them ferve, was with rigor,

17 Butthe midwives fear 4 ed God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them but faved the men-. children alive.

18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and faid unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have faved the men children alive?

19 And the midwives fald unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women: for they lively, and are de livered ere the midwives come in unto them.

20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

21 And it came to pass, becaufe the midwives fear. ed God,that he made them houfestive

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wath her felt at the river, and her maidens walked along by the rivers fide: and when the faw the ark among the flags, the fent her mald to fetch it.

8 And Pharaohs daugh ter faid unto her, Go. And the maid went and called the childs mother.

9 And Pharaohs daughter faid onto her, Take this child away, and nurfe it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child,and nurfed it..

10 And the child grew, and he brought him unto Pharaohs daughter, and he became her fon. And the called his name Mofes: and fe faid, becaufe I drew him our of the water

15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he fought to flay Mofes. But Mofes Red from the face of Pha raoh,and dwelt in theland of Midian: and he fac down by a well.

16 Now the prieft of Midlan had feven daughters: and they came and drew water, & filled the troughs to water their fathers flock.

17 And the shepherds came & drove them away: but Mofes ftood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

And when they came 18 to Reul their father, he fald How is it that you are come fo foon to day?

24 And God heard their groaning,and God remem bred his covenant with A braham, with Ifaac, and with Jacob..

25 And God looked up on the children of Ifrael, and God had refpect unto them.

CHAP. III.

NOW Mofes kept the flock of Jethro his farher in law, the prieft of Midian: and he led the flock to the backfide of the defert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb,

2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire our of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and behold, the buh burned with fire, and the bush was nor confumed

And Mofes faid, I will now turn afide, and fee this great fight, why the bush is not burnt.

4 And when the LORD faw that he turned afide to fee, God called unto him eut of the midst of the Buth, and faid, Mofes, Mo fes: and he faid,Here am I

And he fald, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy Shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou ftandeft, is holy ground.

6 Moreover he laid, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Ifaac, and the God of Jacob. And Mofes hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

10 Come now therefore, gy and I will fend thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayeft bring forth my people the children of Ifrael out of Egypt.

11 And Mofes faid unto E God, Who am I, that I thould go unto Pharaohs and that I should bring forth the children of Ifrael out of Egypt?

12 And he fald, Certain ly I will be with thee: and this shall be a token unto thee that I have fent thee: When thou haft brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye thali ferve God upon this mountain.

13 And Mofes faid unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Ifra." el, and bal fay unto them, The God of your fathers hath fent me unto you;: and they thall fay to me, What is his name? What fhall I fay unto them?

14-And God faid unto Moles, I AM THAT I A M: and he faid, Thus halt thou fay unto the children of Ifrael, I AM hath fent me unto you.

15 And God faid more over unto Mofes, This halt thou fay unto the children of Israel the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Ifaac, and the God of Jacob, hath feat me unco

CHA P. IV.

will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will fay, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.

2 And the LORD faid unto him, What is that in thine hand? and he faid, A rod.

3 And he faid, Caft it on the ground, and he caftit on the ground; and it be came a ferpent and Mofes fed from before it.

4 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Pur forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand and caught it. and it became a rod in his hand.

5 That they may believe that the Lord GOD of their fathers, the God of Abraham,theGod of Ifaac, and the God of Jacob hath appeared unto thee.

6 And the LORD faid furthermore unto him, Pur now thine hand into thy bofom; and he put his hand into his bofom; and when he took it out, be hold,his hand was leprous as fnów."

7 And he fald, Put thine hand into thy bofom a gain; and he put his hand into his bofom again, and plucked it out of his bofom, and behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

8 And it fhall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the firft fign, that they will believe the voice of the larrer fign.

9 And it hall come to pais, if they will nor believe alfo thefe two figns, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river. and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takeft out of the ri ver, fhall become blood. upon the dry land.

15 And theu fhalt fpeak unto him, and pur words in his mouth and I will be with thy month, and with his mouth, and will reach you what ye shall do 16 And he shall be thy fpokfman unto the people, and he shall be, even he thall be to thee in ftead of a month, and thon fhalt Be to him in ftead of God. 17 And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do figns.

24 And it came to pafs by the way in the inn,that the LORD mer him, and fought to kill him.

25 Then Zipporah took sharp ftone, and cut off the fore skin of her fon, and caft it at his feet, and faid, Surely a bloody hur band art thou to me.

26 So he let him go,then the faid, A bloody husf band thou art, because of the circumcifion,

27 And the LORD faid to Aaron, Go into the wil dernefs to meet Mofes. And he went and met him in the mount of God, and kif fed him.":

28 And Mofes told Aaron all the words of the Lord, who had fent him and all. the figns which he had commanded him.

31 And the people believed: and when they they heard that the LORD had vifited the children of if rael, and that he had look. ed upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
