...God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.-2 Ch. xxv. 8.

And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.-9.

...Be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him :- -2 Ch. xxxii. 7.

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah.-8.

...Great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.-Job xxxvii. 5.

I know that thou canst do everything.-Job xlii. 1. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat.-Ps. lxxviii. 18.

out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also ? can he provide flesh for his people?— Ps. lxxviii. 20.

Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven.-23.

And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.-24. Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.-25.

Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.-Ps. cxxxv. 6.

Behold,...he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.-Isa. xl. 15.

I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight....Isa. xlii. 16.

Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it ?-Isa. xliii. 13.

...Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness. -Isa. 1. 2.

Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.-Isa. lix. 1.

Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven

and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.Jer. xxxii. 17.

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh is there anything too hard for me ?—27.

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not ?-Lam. iii. 37.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.-Dan. iii. 17. ...There is no other God that can deliver after this sort.-29.

He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.— Dan. vi. 27.

GOD'S OVERRULING PROVIDENCE

AND INTERPOSITION.

...And the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things. -Gen. xxiv. 1.

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house,...2.

...Thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.-4.

And Abraham said unto him,...6.

The Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father's house,...he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.-7.

And he (the servant) said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.-12.

And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and

thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.-Gen. xxiv. 14.

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.-15.

And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him. drink.-18.

And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.-19.

And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the Lord had made his journey prosperous or not.-21.

And said, Whose daughter art thou?...23.

And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel...24.

And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the Lord.-26.

And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master's brethren.-27.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.-Gen. xxxvii. 3.
