View of the Bolinder Foundries at Kallhäll, near Stockholm

Ranges, Kitchen Equipments and Heating Stoves Cooking ranges and in connection with same kitchen equipments were the first articles manufactured by the firm, and this line has been extended to embrace the most. varying installations for all demands from the small family kitchen to those of the most exigeant hotels, restaurants etc. The superiority of the Bolinder manufactures in this line is proved by the fact that they have had numerous imitators but none come up to the quality of the Bolinder product.

For export the works have designed a special sheet steel range of an entirely new and improved construction, which also, due to its low weight, solidity and small fuel consumption, is very suitable for vessels of all kinds.

Among the products of this firm which are worthy of special notice may be mentioned their mincers and food choppers. These are made in two types the one of which with hole plate and internal rotating knife and the other with an external rotating knife without hole plate. Mechanically perfect in material, design and construction, they are strongly built and beautifully finished, each component part being constructed with that margin for long life and reliability which appeals to descriminating buyers. All cast parts are heavily tinned, whilst the knives are of the best Swedish steel, specially tempered and practically blunt-proof.

In quality, finish and certainly in value, each Bolinder model stands as an acknowledged leader in its class, unequalled for economical and reliable service. And that this product of the firm is on the same high level as their other manufactures is shown by the success gained on each successive market where they have been introduced.

New and improved designs, judiciously selected Woodworking raw materials and skilled labour are the factors which have made the name and fame of the Jonsered concern as woodworking engineers.

The range of products manufactured by the engineering works is too large for a full description here, and interested parties should send for the company's illustrated catalogue to the nearest local agent or direct to the works for obtaining full particulars. A brief account of some typical machines is given here, however, with the object of pointing out some of the features which characterize the Jonsered designs and types of woodworking tools.

Jonsered V Boxboard Joiner designed for the joining and gluing of boxboards having dovetail-shaped tongue and groove, and requiring to be pushed together lengthwise. The standard type with 5 in-feeding hoppers is called PR-5V, but may also be had with 2, 3 or 4 hoppers, and is then called PR-2V, 3V, etc.

The joiner 5V, consequently, when using a queer hopper as well as the 5 in-feeding hoppers, will produce box-sides or walls, containing 6 boards. By a simple adjustment two or three boxsides consisting of 2 resp. 3 boards can be turned out at the same time. See ill. on the opposite page. The glue-pots are arranged for steam or electric heating as desired. Max. wood dimensions: 25 × 230 × 1000 mm. (1" x 9" x 40"). Capacity: 56000 box-sides per 8 hours.

Circular Saw

This machine is a prime favourite in Swedish and Finnish box factories, and boards produced by these machines have met the greatest favour both in Great Britain and many other countries.

Among distinctive features of boxboards
made on Jonsered Boxboard Joiner are:

Stronger than similar widths in one piece.
Dovetailed joints never ripped through.
No narrow edge strips.

Break between joints of sides and ends
can be guaranteed.

Jonsered Log Frames B are strictly upto-date and powerful machines. The crank pin is fitted with S K F roller bearings which, in connection with the ball bearings for the crankshaft journals and loose pulley, prevent heating and breakdowns frequently occurring in machines of this kind. Another characteristic feature is the automatically arranged increase or decrease of feed by which the total capacity of the frame is 20

to 25% higher than in frames of rival makes of corresponding size, speed and stroke. Built in sizes from 870 mm. (34") to 520 mm. (20").

Jonsered Circular Saw Bench CS-M9 especially suitable for splitting slabs, or any kind of stock varying greatly in thickness, deals and boards, sawing fillets, etc.

Speed by 600 mm. (24") saw: 1600 r. p. m.; 6 feeding speeds from 11 to 40 metres (37 ft to 132 ft) per minute.

Speed by 850 mm. (34") saw: 1100 r. p. m.; 6 feeding speeds from 72 to 28 metres (25 ft to 92 ft) per minute.

Largest saw used in this machine: 900 mm. (36").
