CHAPTER 13.

An Act to amend an Act to incorporate the
Town of Alberton

(Assented to April 26th, 1918.)

BE IT ENACTED by the Lieutenant Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island as follows:

Section One of the Act 3 George V, Chapter 3 Geo V. Cap. 27 is hereby amended by striking out all words be- amended. ginning with "thence" in the 18th line thereof and ending with Creek in the 22nd line of said section and substituting in lieu thereof the following words: "thence southwardly along said road to the north boundary of land owned by John Champion, thence eastwardly along the said north boundary until it

year unless the same shall fall upon a statutory holiday, when the election shall be held on the following day, and the Mayor shall be elected annually but the Councillors shall hold office for two years from the time of their election as hereinafter provided, that is to say at the election to be held on the last Tuesday in February, A.D. 1920 three of the Councillors shall go out of office and the Councillors shall decide among themselves by lot which three shall retire and the remaining Councillors shall continue in office until the election of the year A.D. 1921, thence forward in all future years those Councillors who shall have been longest. in office shall vacate their seats.

5. Section II of said Act is hereby amended by striking out of said section all words following the word "town" in the fifth line thereof.

6. Section 68 of said Act is hereby amended by striking out "86" in the twentieth line of said section and substituting in lieu thereof "82."

7: Section 10 of said Act is hereby amended by striking out the word "the" before public in the eighth line thereof and substituting in lieu thereof the word "three" and by striking out the following words after "town," in the ninth line of said section: "of which the Railway Station and Hall of the Post Office for the time being shall be two."

8. Section 131 of said Act is hereby repealed.

9. Schedule "T" to said Act is hereby amended by striking out in the 7th line thereof the following words "a list in the newspaper, being a newspaper published in Prince Edward Island, and substituting in lieu thereof the following words "by posting in three public places within the limits of the said Town a list."

CHAPTER 14.

An Act to amend an Act to incorporate a
Law Society and amending Acts

(Assented to April 26th, 1918.)

E IT ENACTED by the Lieutenant Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island as follows:

1. Section 1 of the Act 50 Victoria, Chapter 10, entitled "An Act to further amend an Act to Incorporate a Law Society" is hereby amended by striking out the word "five" in the twenty-third line thereof and inserting in lieu thereof the word "six."

2. Section 9 of the Act 39 Victoria, Chapter 24, entitled "An Act to Incorporate a Law Society" is hereby repealed.

3. Section 16 of the said Act 39 Victoria, Chapter 24, is hereby amended by striking out all the words of the said section after the word "require" in the fourteenth line thereof.

4. Section I of the Act 47 Victoria, Chapter 12, is hereby amended by striking out all the words of the said section after the word "proper" in the tenth line thereof.

5. Sections 4 and 6 of the Act 60 Victoria, Chapter 10 are hereby amended by striking out the words "twenty-five" in the seventh line of each of the said sections and inserting in lieu thereof in each of the said sections the word "fifty."

6. Nothing in any law or statute in force in this Persons of femprovince shall prevent or be held to prevent any per- admitted to the son from being admitted to study law in this province or from being admitted as an attorney, barrister or solicitor of any court of law or equity in this province, by reason only of the fact that such person is of the female sex, but every female person being in all respects qualified as in the case of a male person shall be capable of being admitted to study law and of being admitted as an attorney, barrister and solicitor of all courts of this province in the same manner as if such

person were of the male sex.
