7 The works of his hands are truth and justice; all his ordinances are immutable: 8 They are fixed for ever and ever, and are founded in truth and equity.

9 He offered salvation to his people; he ordained his covenant for ever: holy and worthy to be revered is his name.

10 The fear of JEHOVAH is the perfection of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who practise it; his praise endureth for ever.

PSALM CXII.

HAPPY is the man who feareth JEHOVAH; who taketh great delight in his commandments !

2 His posterity shall be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Plenty and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Light ariseth in the midst of darkness, for the just, the compassionate, the merciful, and the righteous.

5 He who is liberal and lendeth, and who restraineth his words with discretion, shall prosper.

6 For he shall never be removed; and the righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance:

7 He shall not fear evil report; his heart is fixed, he relieth on JEHOVAH:

8 His heart is firm, he will not be alarmed, even when he looketh his enemies in the face.

9 He giveth liberally to the necessitous; his righteousness endureth for ever, and his horn shall be exalted with honour.

10 The wicked, seeing this, will grieve; he will gnash with his teeth and pine away: the desire of the wicked will come to nought.

PSALM CXIII.

PRAISE JEHOVAH, o ye his servants! o praise ye the name of JEHOVAH !

2 Praised be the name of JEHOVAH, from this time forward, even for ever.

3 Praised be the name of JEHOVAH, from the rising of the sun to his setting. 4 For JEHOVAH is exalted over all nations; his glory is above the heavens.

5 Who is like unto JEHOVAH, Our GOD, who dwelleth in the heavens, and

yet humbleth himself to look down upon the earth?

6 Who raiseth the poor from the dust : who raiseth the wretched from the dung

hill;

7 To seat him with princes; even with the princes of his people.

8 Who maketh the barren woman to be mistress of a family, and a joyful mother of children.

PSALM CXIV.

PRAISE ye JEHOVAH.- -When Israel came forth from Egypt, and the house of Jacob from among a barbarous people; 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

3

The sea beheld him, and fled; Jordan retired back:

4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like affrighted lambs.

5 What ailed thee, o thou sea! that thou fleddest? and thee, o Jordan! that thou retiredst back?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams and ye hills, like affrighted lambs? 7 Tremble,

7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of JEHOVAH; at the presence of the GOD of Jacob:

8 Who changed the rock into a standing water, and the flint into a running stream.

PSALM CXV.

NOT for our sake, O JEHOVAH ! not for our sake, but for thine own name's sake, give we praise; on account of thy mercy, and on account of thy truth.

2 Wherefore should the nations say, "Where is now their GOD ?"

3 When our GOD, who is in heaven, can bring to pass whatsoever he pleaseth.

4 The idols of the nations are silver and gold; the work of human hands:

5 They have mouths, but they cannot speak they have eyes, but they cannot

see:

6 They have ears, but they cannot hear; they have noses, but they cannot smell:

7 They have hands, but they cannot feel; they have feet, but they cannot walk: neither can they speak through their throat. 8 Let those who make these idols be

come like them; so also all those who trust in them.

9 The house of Israel trusteth in JEHOVAH; he is their assistance and defence. 10 The house of Aaron trusteth in JEHOVAH; he is their assistance and defence.

II They who fear JEHOVAH trust in JɛHOVAH; he is their assistance and defence.

12 May JEHOVAH, remembering us, bless us may he bless the house of Israel! may he bless the house of Aaron !

13 May he bless those who fear both small and great!

him,

14 May JEHOVAH heap his blessings upon you; upon you and your children!

15 May ye be blessed of JEHOVAH, who made heaven and earth!

16 The highest heavens are JEHOVAH'S; but he hath given the earth to the children of men.

17 The dead cannot praise thee, O JEHOVAH! neither those who go down into the region of silence :

18 But we will praise JEHOVAH, from this time forward, for evermore.

JEHOVAH !

Praise
