6 The sea and waters forth he brings Both in great oceans and in springs 7 Let all the world God's praise send forth, And join with one accord; All people that do dwell on earth 8 The word God sent us in his Son, 9 Our Mediator hath us bought Vain expectations brings to nought, 10 For God permits no earthly thing, To usurp his love, or to bring 11 Happy the people of the Lord And bless'd the nation whom his word Does willingly receive. 12 From heaven the Lord looks down and sees His sons and daughters all; So from his dwelling-place he views 13 Families he forms in unity, Strength cannot his deliverance bring 15 Behold! the Lord will set his eyes On them that do him fear; And all that to Christ's merit flies 16 On God's exalted Son then wait, 17 Since in his holy name we trust, 18 O! may we all encircle round His throne of heavenly grace; PSALM XXXIV. 1 AT all times I will praise my God, Our precious souls to bless. 2 Let us the Lord our God extol, That with the meek ones we enrol 3 The poor man cries, the Lord does hear, And saves him in distress; He looks for Jesus to appear, 4 His Bible-comforts, like a lamp, 5 O! taste and see that God is good And taste thou of that heavenly food 6 For they that truly seek the Lord Their hope shall rest upon God's word 66 7" Come hither, ye my children, And in my church give ear; There let the pious Christian Before the Lord appear." 8 At home refrain thy lips from guile, From slander keep thy tongue, That thou enjoy the Saviour's smile Amidst the heavenly throng. 9 Do good, seek peace, refrain from ill, Possess your soul in peace. God's eye upon the just is still Supporting them with grace. 10 From out the earth God will cut off The wicked's memory; And all that at religion scoff His face shall never see. 11 Our advocate that dwells on high, But guardian angels keep in trust, 13 Messiah is our Sovereign Lord, Of contrite heart, and will afford 14 Errands of mercy angels fly, When God does them command; Was when his Son came from above, Vile sinners to defend. 16 Though wicked men contemn their God, And take the guilty hire, Affliction he shall reap instead, In God's just wrath and ire. 17 Whilst upright men, whom they detest, Shall them and their's outlive, The guilty man shall have no rest, 18 For God vouchsafes to be the guide His blessing shall rest on their side, 19 When saints and angels join the throng 20 Ten thousand, thousand round the throne, Whitewash'd in Jesus' blood, Shall worship the great Three in One |
