UR object in compiling the following pages, is to collect in an attractive form, some of the edifying and instructive poems, maxims and sayings which are to be found in the works of various Catholic Authors.

Many of these selections are from some of the foremost Catholic Writers, who are eminent for their piety as well as their learning.

It is earnestly hoped that the reader, in perusing these pages, will find therein, not only many conscling thoughts, but also noble aspirations.
