CONFESSION AND PRAYER FOR PARDON.

Have mercy upon us, O God, after thy great goodness, according to the multitude of thy mercies do away our offences; turn thy face from our sins, and put out all our misdeeds; make us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us: for thou art a merciful God, full of compassion, long-suffering, and of great goodness; thou sparest us when we deserve punishment, and in thy wrath thinkest upon mercy. Hear us, O Lord, for thy mercy is great; and after the multitude of thy mercies look upon us; through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord.

18th & 19th Collects aft. Trinity.

FOR GRACE.

O God, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee, mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; give us grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil, and with pure hearts and minds to follow thee, the only God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

FOR PROTECTION.

O God, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, increase and multiply upon us thy mercy, that thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal, keep us, we beseech thee, this night and ever under the protection of thy good Providence, that by thy mighty aid we may be defended and comforted in all dangers and adversities, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THANKSGIVING.

O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the Daniel ix. covenant and mercy unto them that love him and to them that keep his commandments, righteousness belongeth unto thee, mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against thee. Blessed be thy Luke i. holy name for visiting and redeeming thy people, and giving us the knowledge of salvation for the remission of our sins. Blessed be thy name also for the tem- Ps. cxxxix. poral mercies vouchsafed to us, for thou art about our path, and about our bed; thou openest thine hand, and fillest all things living with plenteousness. Teach us, good Lord, to look up to thee as our refuge and strength; and give us such a sense of thy great mercy, as may engage us to a true thankfulness, such as may appear in our lives by an humble, holy, and obedient walking before thee all our days; through Jesus

CONFESSION AND PRAYER FOR PARDON.

O most merciful God, who according to the multitude of thy mercies dost so put away the sins of those who truly repent, that thou rememberest them no more, open thine eye of mercy upon us thy servants, and grant us pardon and forgiveness; mercifully look upon our infirmities, and for the glory of thy name turn from us all those evils that we most justly have deserved; and grant that in all our troubles we may put our whole trust and confidence in thy mercy, and evermore serve thee in holiness and pureness of living to thy honor and glory; through our only Mediator and Advocate, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Collects for 1st & 25th

aft. Trinity.

FOR GRACE.

O God, the strength of all them that put their Sundays trust in Thee, mercifully accept our prayers, and because through the weakness of our mortal nature, we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping thy command ments we may please thee both in will and deed: stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful servants, that we, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

FOR FAITH.

Almighty God, who didst give such grace unto thy holy apostles, that they readily obeyed the calling of thy Son Jesus Christ, and followed him without delay, grant us so perfectly and without all doubt to believe in him, that our faith in thy sight may never be reproved; but that, being called by thy holy word, we may forthwith give up ourselves obediently to fulfil thy holy commandments; through the same Jesus Christ

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the 2d Collect whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified, receive our supplications and prayers, which we offer before thee for all estates of men in thy holy Church, that every member of the same in his vocation and ministry may truly and godly serve thee: we beseech thee with thy favour to behold our gracious sovereign lord the King, and so replenish him with the grace of thy Holy Spirit, that he may alway incline to thy will, and

Litany.

O God, the Father, of heaven; have mercy upon us, miserable sinners. O God the Son, Redeemer of the world; have mercy upon us, miserable sinners. O God the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the Father and the Son; have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.

Remember not, Lord, our iniquities, nor the iniquities of our forefathers, neither take thou vengeance of our sins: spare us, good Lord; spare thy people whom thou hast redeemed with thy most precious blood, and be not angry with us for ever.

From all evil and mischief, from sin, from thy wrath, and from everlasting damnation; from all blindness of heart, from pride, vain glory, and hypocrisy; from envy, hatred, and malice, and all uncharitableness; from all the deceits of the world, the flesh, and the devil; from hardness of heart, and contempt of thy word and commandment; in all time of our tribulation, in all time of our wealth, in the hour of death, and in the day of judgment, Good Lord, deliver us.

We sinners do beseech thee to hear us, O Lord God; and that it may please thee to give us an heart to love and dread thee, and diligently to live after
