THE IMMUTABILITY OF GOD. I THROUGH endless years thou art the same, The strong foundations of the earth By thee the beauteous arch of heav'n III Soon shall this goodly frame of things, IV But thy perfections, all divine, Through everlasting ages shine, Thy servants' children, still thy care, To latest times thy favour share, THE GOODNESS OF GOD. I DEAR is the mem'ry of thy love, II Thou reign'st on high, but not confin'st Thro' the whole earth thy bounty shines, III Their suppli'nt eyes thy creatures raise Thy hand the wish'd-for food conveys, IV How kind are thy compassions, LORD! V All nature, through its boundless space, But those who taste thy greater love THE DAILY GOODNESS OF GOD. I GREAT GOD! how endless is thy love! II Thou spreadst the curtains of the night, Great guardian of our sleeping hours! Thy sov'reign word restores the light, And quickens all our drowsy pow'rs. III We yield our pow'rs to thy command; To thee we consecrate our days: Perpetual blessings from thine hand Demand perpetual songs of praise. THE UNBOUNDED GOODNESS OF GOD. I GIVE to our GOD immortal praise; II He built the earth, he spread the sky, ITI Messiah came with pow'r to save IV Through this vain world he guides our feet, And leads us to his heav'nly seat; His mercies ever shall endure, When this vain world shall be no more. THE DISTINGUISHED GOODNESS OF GOD TO MAN. THY wisdom, pow'r and goodness, LORD! But most thy praise shall man record, II From thee the breath of life he drew, III Thy providence, his constant guard IV Yet nobler favours claim his praise, V All-bounteous LORD! thy mind impart : |
