beholder. The instructions of the owner to M. Lortic were, that the book should
be placed in a dress equal to its merits, and most thoroughly were his orders obeyed. It is a gem that any collector might covet.

BY MOREAU, all of the most exquisite finish, and considered as
the finest productions of this celebrated artist. To these superb designs are added a duplicate set of the engravings
in two states, to wit: the Etching, and the finished plate, in an UNLETTERED PROOF STATE. Also, Proof Impressions of the series engraved at London by Watson, after Catel of Berlin, which are
themselves of great rarity. The binding of this choice volume is the result of several months'
labor, and cost 1,800 francs—$360 in gold. It was considered by the artist to be his Chef-d'Euvre. As a specimen of the perfection to which the art of book-binding has attained in France, at the present day, it can not be excelled.
